How to Track Industry News in 20 Minutes a Month
Why most 'industry news' content is a trap
Trends, device launches, and platform updates change monthly. Publishing a '2026 trends' page and never updating it does more harm than publishing nothing — a stale page signals a stale clinic, to patients and to Google alike.
Follow sources, not summaries
Your device manufacturers. Your professional association. One credible industry publication. The platform's own creator account. Everything else is speculation repackaged as urgency.
The monthly ritual
Twenty minutes, same day each month. Scan those sources. For each item, ask one question: does this change what I do, or only what I know? Act on the first category. Ignore the second, which is most of it.
What actually matters to a clinic
New regulation or advertising rules. Safety updates on products you use. Platform changes to search, ranking, or link features. Genuinely new treatment categories — not rebranded old ones.
What never matters
Algorithm rumours. Anyone selling a hack. Trend pieces about devices you will never buy. Competitor announcements.
Turn it into content, once
If an update genuinely affects patients — a new safety guideline, a rule change — write about it that week, honestly, and date it. That is real news content. The rest is noise you should not be republishing.
